Gasim bey Hammam
Gasim bey Hammam
The Gasim bey Hammam was built in the 15th century during the reign of Shirvanshah I Khalilullah near the Salyan Gate.
Previously, this bathhouse was called the “Shirin” (sweet) bathhouse among the people. This was due to the fact that sweets were served here with tea. The bathhouse belonged to the Salimkhanov family and all the traditions of local architecture were taken into account here. After entering, there were dressing rooms, washing rooms, and a swimming pool covered with a cross-shaped dome. Clay pipes passing through the walls and under the floor were used to heat the building and provide water. From the 70s until recently, the “Green Pharmacy” operated here. The bathhouse is protected by the state as an important architectural monument of Azerbaijan.
