The Multani Caravanserai, a 14th-century monument, served as a shelter for merchants coming to Baku from Multan, Pakistan, for trade.

The area of this one-story caravanserai is 100 sq.m. It is square shaped in plan. The architectural and planning structure of the caravanserai consists of balconies surrounding the courtyard along the perimeter, and separate rooms located behind them, intended for individual residence. This caravanserai was erected on an old building. Its lower part with a high vaulted ceiling, with an area of 200 sq.m., was built 200 years before the upper part. This part was used as a warehouse for storing goods.
