The House of Isa-bey Hajinski The House of Isa-bey Hajinski The House of Isa-bey Hajinski

One of the historical figures of Azerbaijan is Isa-bey Hajinski. Among the Baku elite, which became famous with the oil boom, the Hajinskis were distinguished primarily by their bey roots dating back to the 17th century. Isa-bey Hajinski was a first-class merchant, a large landowner, and an oil millionaire. He purchased large plots of land in Balakhani, Sabunchu, and Binagadi, engaged in oil refining there, and founded his own oil company called “Isa bey Hajinski.” During the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, Hajinski had 43 oil wells and employed thousands of workers.

The magnificent estate, located next to the Maiden Tower, on Neftchilar Avenue, was one of the residences of Isabey Hajinsky. The governor's apartment and residence were located in this area.

The construction of the building lasted 3 years and was completed in 1909. The estate consists of 40 rooms. There is eclecticism in the style of this building. On the one hand, "Gothic" style elements are evident here, for example, the presence of pointed turrets, hanging balconies and stonework, and on the other hand, "Baroque" style decorative colorful balconies give the building a special harmony.

The house was originally 6-story. Each floor belonged to a member of the family. The 1st floor housed the servants of the house, the kitchen, and the laundry. A small stage was placed in the large hall on the 4th floor. Musicians performed in this hall on various holidays. Musicians who were on tour in Baku at that time performed in this hall with concert programs for family members.
