Book Presentation on Irevan’s Cultural Heritage
16.04.2026
A book by Doctor of Philology, Professor Farida Safiyeva was presented at the Maqsud Ibrahimbeyov Creativity Center. The publication, supported by Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, was published in four languages and introduced as an important scientific source contributing to the restoration of Irevan’s forgotten national and cultural heritage.
The presentation was attended by Leyla Aliyeva and Alyona Aliyeva.
During the event, Rufat Mahmud, Chairman of the Board of the Icherisheher State Historical-Architectural Reserve Administration, delivered a speech highlighting that Icherisheher is not only a tourism destination but also an important center for art, creativity, and intellectual life. He noted that hosting such events is a clear manifestation of this role.
The event continued with an artistic program, offering participants an engaging and culturally rich experience.
It should be noted that the book substantiates with scientific facts that Irevan was an ancient cultural center belonging to the Azerbaijani people. It explores the city’s centuries-old history, rich heritage, and examines the attempts to erase Azerbaijani identity in the context of events that took place during the 19th–20th centuries.
