The “Icherisheher” State Historical-Architectural Reserve Administration was represented at the “D-8 High-Level Climate and Urbanization Dialogue” held in Baku.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Board Rufat Mahmud highlighted the innovations implemented within the “Smart Reserve” initiative. He emphasized that this initiative not only focuses on preserving historical monuments but also aims to ensure the city's development in line with modern challenges, combining traditional knowledge with contemporary technologies to advance toward a sustainable future.

Rufat Mahmud noted that today Icherisheher stands as a unique urban model shaped by the harmony of cultural heritage and innovation. Through digitalization, smart monitoring systems, and green technologies, the authenticity of the historical environment is preserved while more comfortable and safer conditions are created for residents and visitors.

This initiative positions Icherisheher as one of the leading regional examples of climate-adaptive smart urban planning.
