Organized by the Icherisheher State Historical-Architectural Reserve Administration, the “Heritage Walk in Icherisheher” tour was held once again.

The event took place within the framework of the Azerbaijan Urban Campaign (#AUC2026), implemented as a joint initiative of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture and the UN Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), as part of the roadmap leading to the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (#WUF13).

The tour served as a practical discussion platform for assessing the role of the historic urban environment in the context of contemporary urban planning. Participants had the opportunity to analyze Icherisheher not only as a cultural heritage site, but also as a functional, sustainable, and people-centered urban space.

Students studying urban planning and architecture, as well as specialists and researchers with interest and experience in urban planning, architecture, and cultural heritage preservation, took part in the event. Along the route, discussions were held on the architectural features of Icherisheher, the stages of formation of its urban fabric, and the integration of the historic environment with modern urban needs.
