On February 13, 2026, another significant event promoting national and cultural heritage took place in İçərişəhər. After a long hiatus, the official exhibition and sales space of the national “Dastan” brand, operating under the Icherisheher Traditional Arts Center, was reopened following major restoration and renovation work. Simultaneously, the brand presented its new collection, “Spirit of Turan,” which reflects the shared cultural heritage of the Turkic world. The event was attended by government officials, the leadership of the Reserve, representatives of foreign diplomatic missions, as well as prominent figures in culture and the arts.

The “Spirit of Turan” collection, the sixth for the Dastan brand, draws inspiration from the rich cultural heritage of Azerbaijan and other Turkic states, historical and architectural monuments, examples of decorative-applied arts, and preserved traditional sources. Created by nine designers and comprising nearly 100 items, the collection showcases works in ceramics (decorative plates, vases, tea sets), batik (silk scarves and kelagayi), woodworking (mirrors, backgammon sets, pen holders, photo frames, desktop lamps, decorative vases), and jewelry (bracelets, earrings, rings).

Products in the collection incorporate various artistic and technical approaches, including mother-of-pearl inlay, lacework, and traditional kelagayi printing techniques, which are recognized on UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list. The project’s main goal is to promote, revitalize, and pass on the culture of Turkic-speaking peoples to future generations.

It is worth noting that the Icherisheher Traditional Arts Center, a joint project of the İçərişəhər State Historical-Architectural Reserve and the UK’s Prince’s School of Traditional Arts, was established in October 2012 with the initiative and support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. Since its inception, the center has consistently functioned as both a creative and educational platform, dedicated to studying, preserving, and interpreting Azerbaijan’s national art heritage, while promoting the Azerbaijani brand internationally. From the very beginning, Dastan products have held a special place for their unique artistic solutions and high aesthetic quality, becoming preferred national examples for individual art enthusiasts as well as corporate official gifts.
