Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan

on Addition to the “Structure of the Administration of the State Historical-Architectural Reserve “Icherisheher" under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan #574 of May 16, 2007

The growing economic potential of the Azerbaijani state has given an impetus to the capital repair and restoration work in the buildings of museums located in the country, the construction of new buildings, and contributed to positive changes in the organization of the museum work and the development of interesting exhibits. Taking into consideration the ongoing work aimed at restructuring the activities of Azerbaijani museums on the basis of modern museum work principles and in accordance with international standards, the works carried out in the field of museums for the protection and promotion of the historical and cultural heritage of the Azerbaijani people are of great public importance.

Museums play an indispensable role in studying the ancient and rich history of the Azerbaijani people and passing it on to its next generations. In addition to protecting the values of the people, they also fulfill the functions of moral education center. In this sense, the State Historical-Architectural Reserve Museum "Shirvanshahs’ Palace Complex" operating since 1964 is of special importance with its history and architectural-aesthetic appearance. Magnifying the Icherisheher's image this museum complex carries out important work to study and propagate our glorious past-history, to demonstrate the values of material-culture of our people to foreign visitors.

In order to ensure a unified state management of state cultural institutions engaged in the promotion of monuments in the territory of the Icherisheher State Historical-Architectural Reserve, and to improve the structure of the Icherisheher State Historical-Architectural Preserve under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, I hereby decree:

1. To add the paragraph 2.5 in the following content to the structure of the Administration of the State Historical-Architectural Reserve "Icherisheher" under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan approved by Decree # 574 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated May 16, 2007 (Collection of Legislative Acts of the Republic of Azerbaijan, 2007, # 5, Article 456):

2.5. State Historical-Architectural Reserve Museum "Shirvanshahs Palace Complex".

2. The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan shall resolve issues arising from this Decree.
