On January 19, 2018, the Scientific and Practical Conference dedicated to the 28th anniversary of the tragedy of 20 January was held in Icherisheher Reserve Department. At the conference, lectures on the subject of “January 20 and the Struggle for Independence”,” On the verge of independence”, “Trace of January 20 tragedy in memory of Azerbaijani youth”,” January 20 tragedy and modern youth”, “January 20 tragedy - the talent we have lost” was heard.

The reasons for the tragedy were analyzed in the light of the socio-political events of that time, and valuable ideas were voiced about the great heroism of our martyrs who were sacrificed their lives at a turning point on the way to Azerbaijan's independence.
