Icherisheher Museum Center hereby announces the new master class series “Azeri Home Chef” to be held at Gala State Historical-Ethnographic Reserve. This master class is dedicated to gutab and lavash, a flatbread-making tradition inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2016 as a shared heritage of Turkic-speaking countries. To contribute to this success, we are seeking to preserve the proper technique of flatbread making traditions organizing master classes for women.

Shahla Jabrayilova, who took the first place in the amateur culinary contest - “Azeri Home Chef” preparing gutab, erishte and dushbara within 30 minutes, will act as the chief master in the master classes. She will instruct participants how to cook all varieties of gutab including gutabs with meat, greens, cottage cheese, pumpkin and chestnut. Gutab and lavash will be made on the saj.

Gutabs with meat will be made from rare breeds of sheep raised in Gala Reserve. The entrance is 20 AZN.

The event will take place at the Ethno-House. You will enjoy a master-class by Shahla Jabrayilova followed by a lunch with delicious gutab and lavash, samovar tea and friendly ambiance in 19th century Garden House, Ipeksu water, VivaDesert sweets, music program, and memory photos. You will also be able to visit Equestrian Center along the coast of Shor Lake.
