Administration of State Historical-Architectural Reserve "Icherisheher" continues work on preservation of Icheri Sheher in accordance with "Master Plan on conservation of historical center of Baku" since 2009. Starting from last year, in the monuments intended for restoration and conservation of the current project, the diagnostics and measurement works were carried out by the specialists in advance and based on the results obtained, the technology and materials to be applied were determined. It is used in the monuments of special materials intended for repair work. At present, work processes in restoration and conservation monuments are at the center of “Icherisheher“ State Historical-Architectural Reserve.

The conservation work carried out in the underground bath, which is in the center of attention, has begun in 2016. During the reconstruction and archaeological excavations near the Double Gates, the ruins of a bathhouse belonging to the Middle Ages were discovered. According to scientists, at that time, customs baths were strictly observed in sanitary and hygienic rules in Baku. These baths were built on the main entrance doors. Most likely, this bath also served Baku customs. After the occupation of Baku by the Russians in 1806, the bathhouse was stopped, the dome was dismantled, the rooms were filled with economic waste and ground covered. Thus, the military commandant was placed in that area. As a result of archaeological excavations in 2015, the main part of the bath complex was cleaned from the ground and the architectural structure was determined. In some archeological excavations, some walls and masonry ruins have been damaged and fear to collapse. The monument is currently being restored and conserved. The project is implemented in a planned manner. In the future, the archeological museum under open sky is planned to operate.

Ashur mosque, built in 1171, was used by the public. It was reported that there was a need for restoration and preservation of the monument due to serious defects discovered during repair works. Restoration work has been started in the monument since 2016. The conservation work is underway at the monument's hall, which is decorated with stalactites. After the restoration period finishes, the mosque will be re-opened to the public.

Hacı Kaib Hamam, which is located near the Maiden Tower, is built in the 15th century by the order of a person named Haji Kaib. The architect of the monument was Haji Bani. The bathhouse has been underground for many centuries and was accidentally discovered in 1964. In those years, the restoration work in the hamam, which was carried out non-professional, remained incomplete until today. From the current year, the Haji Kaib Hamam (bath) will be accompanied by scientific research and the conservation work will be carried out using modern technology and materials based on the project. The monument will be put on touristic routes and will be used for tourism purposes only. "Tourism Information Center - 2" will operate in there.

On the left side of the Icheri Sheher's Double Gate, the remains of the palace of the Baku Khans, which is the architectural monument of the eighteenth century, are located. This complex was the residence of the Baku khans, who ruled in Baku from 1747 to 1806. In 1859-1920, the buildings of the Baku khan palace complex were repaired and several reconstructions were carried out and new buildings were added. For this reason, the initial appearance of the Baku khan palace complex was distorted. The palace of Baku khans, which is a model of Shirvan architectural school, was given special value by the Reserve and a planned project was prepared for its maintenance. The monument will be restored this year as well as reconstructed, and the most interesting thing is that the monument will be designed by modern methods. The exposition of the Old City historical museum will be established in here.
