On October 4-6, 2017, Azerbaijan hosted an annual conference of ICMAH (International Committee for Museums and Collections of Archaeology and History) entitled "Museums, Collections and Industrial Heritage". The conference was organized by ICMAH, ICOM Azerbaijan National Committee and Administration of State Historical-Architectural Reserve "Icherisheher".

ICMAH is one of the main committees established in 1947 by the International Council for Museums (ICOM). The main and most important function of this committee is to collaborate with archeology and history museums and professional museum staff around the world. One of the main goals of this activity is to hold an international conference every year, to touch the problematic areas of museums and to discuss interesting topics.

Representatives from 35 museums of 15 different countries and museum professionals made speeches at the conference.

During the conference a cultural program was organized for the participants, which included the Marionette Theatre.
